Alexi Amarista hit a go-ahead RBI double in the seventh inning and the Padres defeated the Angels, 3-2, on Saturday. Cardinals 1B Berkman helped off field
St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Lance Berkman was helped off the field at the conclusion of the second inning of Saturday night's game against the Dodgers with a right knee injury. Berkman stretched to make the catch at first after a routine ground ball hit to shortstop Rafael Furcal off the bat of Justin Sellers. The Reds struck out 12 times against Ivan Nova on Saturday afternoon, but still beat the Yankees 6-5 behind a three-run homer by Joey Votto and 6 1/3 good innings from Homer Bailey. The Yankees scored twice in the ninth inning and had men at second and third base when Curtis Granderson grounded out to end the game.
